Ensuring Excellence: Quality Assurance at Corrosion Testing Laboratories

Corrosion Testing Laboratories is a corrosion and materials science firm that has been in business for over thirty-five years. CTL maintains a thorough quality assurance system for all laboratory services, which is actively updated and updated. This program governs the use of quality equipment, personnel training, documentation, and the traceability of samples received at CTL, as well as all other critical functions of our lab.

We originally developed our Quality Assurance Program to satisfy the stringent requirements of the nuclear industry. We are an approved corrosion testing laboratory for the nuclear industry. Our quality assurance manual follows the following industrial specifications:

  • US Nuclear Regulations 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B: Quality Assurance Criteria for Nuclear Power Plants and Fuel Reprocessing Plants
  • 10 CFR Part 21: Reporting of Defects and Noncompliance
  • ASME and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, Division I, Subsection NCA 3800

Customers regularly audit our program from a diverse range of industries. These audits have yielded only minor findings, which we have consistently resolved to the satisfaction of our customers. In addition to the client audits, CTL performs an internal audit of our program using a third-party reviewer to ensure effectiveness, which we can provide upon request.

CTL has not yet sought certification to this standard through a certifying organization. The rigorous requirements of the aforementioned Nuclear and ASME specifications are very similar to those of popular standards, including ISO 17025. The popularity of ISO 17025 certification for testing laboratories has increased in recent years. While we do not hold any formal certifications, our QA program is in close compliance with these programs. If you would like to see additional documentation concerning any work we will perform for your firm, we are pleased to provide copies or make it available should you have the opportunity to visit our facility.
